Rush Wines
Welcome to Rush Wines

Rush Wines is a small, Birmingham-based distributor of limited-production wines from independently owned wineries around the world. Founded in August of 2002 by entrepreneur Rush Garner, Rush Wines seeks to promote wine awareness in Alabama by bringing some of the world’s finest wines to its local markets, as well as by introducing consumers to the people

behind the wines. The company is also involved in the production of its own private-label series of wines, which embody our focus on higher-quality, handcrafted wines made by small-scale, family-owned wineries.

We are extremely excited to announce the release of the 2010 Rush Viognier! The fruit for the first bottling of this spring-appropriate wine comes from the Templeton Hills Vineyard in Paso Robles. The grapes were hand-harvested and whole cluster-pressed while still cool. Barrel fermentation took place in new Hungarian and seasoned French oak, and the wine was aged on its lees passively for five months, a process that produces a richer mouthfeel and allows the wine to be bottled with minimal filtration. The resulting wine discloses aromas of jasmine, ripe apricot, and peaches, intertwined with elusive hints of almond blossom. A rich, silky mouthfeel frames ripe flavors of similar stone fruits before culminating in a long, rich finish. This Viognier will continue to improve with proper cellaring for another 12-24 months, but why wait? Enjoy with soft ripe cheeses, spicy Asian cuisine, as well as richer ocean selections such as scallops, oysters, and lobster. Only 353 cases made.
